Allerject™ and Tim Horton Children’s Foundation renew their partnership

Laval, June 23, 2014: Sanofi Canada is pleased to announce that it has renewed its partnership with the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation (THCF) and will once again be providing Allerject™ to the Foundation’s camps.

Sanofi Canada contributed 80 Allerject™ last year – and will be doing so again this year – so that kids at risk of anaphylaxis will have access to the latest emergency treatment option in the event of a severe allergic reaction while at camp. In addition, Sanofi Canada is providing training materials for camp staff.

“We are proud to support the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation camps once again this year as we are committed to raising awareness about severe allergies and making Allerject available if ever needed in an emergency anaphylactic situation,” says Jon Fairest, President and CEO of Sanofi Canada.

Hosting about 13,000 campers at their five camps in Canada, the Foundation has to be ready for any contingency. “We take every precaution we can to help allergic campers avoid their allergen triggers, but with Allerject™ we’re prepared should someone experience anaphylaxis,” says Dave Newnham, Vice President and Executive Director at THCF. “Thank you, Sanofi Canada, for your ongoing support.”

The Tim Horton Children’s Foundation provides a camp experience for economically disadvantaged children. It covers the entire cost, giving these youngsters the opportunity to grow, develop independence, and experience personal achievement.

Allerject™ is the first and only ‘talking’ epinephrine auto-injector. It comes with automated voice instructions which guide individuals through the injection process. To learn more about Allerject, visit http://www.allerject.ca/ or on Twitter @Allerject.
